7/2/07 - Brown Motorsports Update
The Frog has had a successful month!
We did some testing in Kennedale at the Texas Outlaw pro mod race June 8th and had good runs, but not good enough to qualify and make the show. We raced the car in the Chevy Spectacular at Texas Motorplex June 22, 23, and 24th. We had to make two quarter mile passes to get an updated ET license. Our first pass the car went into severe tire shake and turned right, so I had to peddle it and get her turned back into the groove. I realized I only had two shots at it so I got back in the throttle and run an 8.16@188.00mph. The second pass started out great, but then turned to bad when a oil line broke blowing oil all over the windshield about 500 feet into the run forcing me to lift and get the chutes out because I could not see, but the ol’ heap still ran a 7.52@ only 127 mph. The best news was from the computer showing the car was on an awesome run of a high 6.90 to 6.95 pass if we did not have the oil problem. We then proceed to run three qualifying rounds in the heat of the day still producing the frog’s best runs ever in 96 degree heat.
We qualified # 13 out of 17 in the pro mod field with a 4.49 at 164 mph. We decided to make a change in the wheelie bars by raising them, and were not sure if the track conditions or the change on the wheelie bars hurt us because the first round Sunday the car jumped up on the wheelie bar and turned left forcing me to lift loosing first round. Oh well always next time.
Next race is at Kennedale July 13th.

4/16/07- Brown Motorsports Houston Results
The Brown Motorsports crew made the trip to Houston Motorsports park, Saturday. Although they ran into problems with the reverser on the transmission, Howard was able to wheel the Camaro to a
4.670 @ 139.28 mph, early shut down pass in the second round of qualifying.
In the first round, Howard paired up with Doug Riesterer in nitrous powered Camaro. When the amber lights fell, the Camaro launched hard, but soon ran into tire spin as the track was very cool. Check out the multimedia section for photos and video, and look for the team in Kennedale, Texas next Friday.
